It's highly likely that you are not contacting the actual company and the people you are talking to (customer service) are bound by some stupid rules that the corporate company (the client aka who you think you are talking to) place on them and they can't do anything to really help you unless it's simple. As a customer service agent, I have also found that the nicer you treat me, the more I will do to help you. I have worked my butt off trying to help the nice old man that understood it would take me some time to get information for him and irritated the company (our client) until I have gotten the information for the customer. At the same time, the woman yelling in my ear that I was a ditzy b*tch that couldn't get anything done got absolutely no help from me whatsoever. Along that same note.. when you ask to speak to a manager, it's highly likely that the manager has gone home, was never there, or is in a meeting. We ARE adults, so don't ask me who is in charge if the manager isn't there. Most likely I'm there by myself, especially on weekends. And when I say by myself, I do mean no one else in the building, period. With that said.. the Random Wisdom to Live By is: Be nice to those customer service people and they'll be nice to you. Questions Often Asked - Are you really a girl? You know what that say about girls on the net - (G)uy (I)n (R)eal (L)ife. Yes, I am a girl, woman, whatever. No, I'm not going to show you a picture to prove it, and no, I'm not going to talk to you on Vent, Skype, whatever. There are sites for that. - Do you really play games? Yes, I am addicted to games. Ever since my parents bought me my first Atari (wow, showing my age there), I have loved games. I'm not an avid raider or whatever in World of Warcraft simply because I can't stand idiots. There are only a few people I enjoy playing with, otherwise I prefer being left alone. - Where did you get the name Melinca? Melinca is a derivative from the most awesome character ever. Link from Legends of Zelda. I was looking to name myself Linka (a more feminine version of Link) on a game I was playing at the time, but the name was already taken. I decided to put Me in front of it, so Me = Linka, becoming Melinka. Over the years, I changed the k to a c because I like c better, and it became Melinca. After being called dude enough times to make my teeth grind together, I changed it to Miss Melinca, eventually shortening it to Miss Mel because it was easier to type. And then, of course, everyone shortened that to Mel. - Will you show me / play "_____" with me / add me to whatever list / talk / whatever? The answer will most likely be no. I have met a few people online that I really enjoyed talking to, playing with, and the like, but none of them have came up and just asked me to do something. Most of the people I play games with now actually came from a game I played over a decade ago when we hung around the 'bar' of a graphical chat room. I no longer play that game, but I still keep in touch with quite a few of them. ![]() ![]()
